Whole Body Burial – Pricing Explained
At Great River, we keep pricing simple so you can focus on what matters most — your pet companion. We do this in two ways:
- Consistent plot pricing
All plots within each burial area — Paws in Peace and Whole Family — are offered at the same price, regardless of location. - Package pricing
Rather than breaking costs into many separate line items, we include what is necessary to provide thoughtful, high-quality care in one clear, transparent price. Families should not have to sort through fees during a time of loss.
Included in the package price:
- Perpetual interment rights for one whole-body pet companion burial in a Paws in Peace 5’ × 5’ plot, or up to three whole-body pet companion burials in a Whole Family burial plot (dependent on the size of the pet companions)
- Opening and closing of the grave
- Sexton coordination of the burial and support of the graveside service
- Recording and mapping of grave GPS coordinates
- Native plant revegetation
- Post-burial site care
Our package pricing includes everything required for a natural burial that is not optional. A few elements are not included, as families may wish to make personal choices around them. These optional items that you will need to consider are:
- Transportation of your pet companion — typically handled by family or friends
- Burial container — which may be a simple shroud, or favorite blanket, made from natural fibers
- Optional memorialization — such as a headstone and/or a living tribute tree

Payment Options
Recognizing the significant role finances can play in end-of-life decisions, we are committed to providing equal access to natural burial options. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to engage in meaningful end-of-life rituals.
In support of our commitment to provide equal access to natural burial, Great River understands that separating the cost of the plot and the opening and closing fee may be a more suitable option for many. To this end, we offer the option of prepayment of your pet companion’s plot, and payment of the opening and closing at the time of passing.

Our prices are subject to change without prior notice; however, opting for advance payment will secure your pet companion’s burial at the current rates. While our preferred methods of payment are cash, check, Zelle, or Venmo, we also accommodate credit card payments, which may incur a transaction fee.
Reserving a Space
We will hold your selected space for 30 days, after which we will release the space for purchase if a purchase agreement is not in place. Deposits made on plots are non-refundable.
Refunds
Interment rights (plot), along with products and services that have been delivered, are non-refundable. However, payments made in advance for future products or services (opening and closing), are fully refundable.
